1 · Who we are
Serica Materials is the trading name of the Europe-side entity within the Wherefor Group, a compliance-led procurement execution layer for Chinese-origin specialty industrial inputs delivered into the European Union. The Europe-side entity is the data controller for personal data collected through sericamaterials.com. Contact: contact@sericamaterials.com.
2 · What we collect
When you submit the contact or request-a-sample form, we process the data you give us: name, business email, company, country, the material and volume you are enquiring about, your current supplier (optional), and any free-text notes. We do not collect special category data and do not ask for it.
3 · Why we process it
Solely to respond to your enquiry and, where you become a buyer, to operate the commercial relationship (quotation, documentation, customs, invoicing). Legal basis: pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in operating a B2B business (Art. 6(1)(f)) for follow-up correspondence.
4 · Cookies and analytics
The public site uses only strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising or social tracking in Phase I. Form submissions are stored on our backend (Supabase, EU region) and reach our team by email.
5 · Sharing and transfers
Form data is processed by our hosting and database providers acting as processors under GDPR-compliant terms. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with third parties for marketing. Where a buyer relationship requires a transfer of company contact details to a China-side counterparty (e.g. to coordinate production), this is done on the basis of contract performance with appropriate safeguards.
6 · Retention
Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months after the last contact, then deleted unless a commercial relationship has begun, in which case standard commercial-law retention applies.
7 · Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. To exercise any right, write to contact@sericamaterials.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
8 · Changes
We update this notice when our processing changes. The date at the top of the page is the authoritative version date.
