What it does
Sodium lignosulfonate — the first-generation natural plasticiser and dispersant. Lower performance than PCE but materially cheaper; used as a water-reducer, dispersant in concrete admixtures, and a binder in industrial applications.

- Concrete water-reducer (entry-grade admixtures)
- Dispersant in dye, pesticide and ceramic systems
- Binder in animal-feed pellets and dust suppression
