What it does
Aminosilanes (APTES / AMEO) — bifunctional coupling agents that bond inorganic substrates (glass, silica, mineral fillers) to organic polymers. The single most-used silane family in EU adhesive, sealant and composite formulation.
Typical applications
- Adhesion promoter in PU and epoxy adhesives
- Glass-fibre sizing for composites
- Mineral-filler treatment (silica, wollastonite, kaolin)
- Crosslinker in moisture-cure systems
